What makes this Father's Day book different from a name-swap book?
Most personalized Father's Day books are one pre-written story with a blank where the name goes. The dad in the book is a drawing of nobody in particular. Me the Star starts from the other end: you describe something that actually happened, and the story is written around that moment, with your kid drawn from a photo you upload[1].
So the book is about the Saturday he taught her to ride without training wheels, or the time they built a pillow fort that took over the living room, or the pancake tower that fell over. The kind of thing the two of them will actually remember. That is what a dad wants to be handed on the third Sunday in June, and it is what a name-swap book cannot do.
| What you get | Typical personalized book | Me the Star |
|---|---|---|
| The story | One pre-written plot, the same for every child | Written around a real moment you describe |
| The kid on the page | An illustrated avatar: pick hair and skin tone from a menu | Drawn from one photo, same face on every page |
| Read before you buy | Preview of a fixed story | Read the whole finished book free, then decide |
| Format | Softcover to hardcover, 22 to 36 pages | Hardcover, 32 pages, ribbon bookmark, archival paper |

How is a personalized Father's Day book made?
Three things from you, and the book is on screen in under five minutes[1]. Everything after that is reading, approving, and deciding whether to print.
One photo of your kid
We build a private likeness sheet from it, face, hair and skin tone, and reuse that sheet on every page so the child in the book is recognizably yours from the first spread to the last[1].

One real moment with their dad
Two or three sentences is enough. What they did, where, what went wrong or right. The story is written from that, in the voice and length that fits your kid's age.

Read it, fix it, print it
The finished book is narrated aloud in the app. Rewrite any line, redraw any page, and only print what you actually want on the shelf[1]. Every printed book also passes a human reviewer and an automated likeness check before it goes to the press.

When should you order a Father's Day book?
Father's Day in the United States falls on the third Sunday of June, which is 20 June in 2027. The book itself is ready to read in minutes; the print is what takes time. Standard ground delivery is 5 to 7 business days[1], so approve the print by the first week of June and it arrives with room to spare.
If you are reading this in the week before Father's Day, the free version is still a real gift: the narrated book on a phone, read aloud together on Sunday morning, with the hardcover following the week after. Nobody has ever complained about a present that arrives twice.
- Early May: upload the photo, write the moment, read the first draft. Rewrites and redraws are free.
- First week of June: approve the pages and print. That leaves the full 5 to 7 business days plus a buffer.
- The week of Father's Day: read the free version on screen and let the hardcover arrive after.
Which moments make the best Father's Day story?
Small and specific beats big and vague. "Dad and Maya went to the beach" gives the writer nothing. "Dad let Maya bury his feet in the sand and then pretended he could not find them" gives it everything: a place, a game, a joke, and two people who were clearly there.
- The thing they do every Saturday that nobody else is part of.
- The first time he taught them something: tying a shoe, a bike, a card game, flipping a pancake.
- A mistake that turned into a story the family still tells.
- A place that belongs to the two of them: the hardware store, the same bench at the park, the car with the radio up.
- Something your kid said about their dad that you wrote down and never used.
You write it in your own words, as long or as short as you like. The story keeps the facts you gave it and builds the rest around your kid's age, so a two-year-old's book and a seven-year-old's book about the same Saturday read very differently.
Questions parents ask
Does the dad appear in the illustrations too?
Your kid is the one drawn from a photo and kept the same on every page. Dad is in the story as the moment describes him, not drawn from a photo.
Can I make the book from a grandparent or from the kids?
Yes. The dedication and the moment are yours to write, so the book can come from the kids, from mom, from a grandparent, or from the whole family. A gift address at checkout ships it straight to him.
How many pages is the book, and what is it made of?
32 pages in an 8.5 by 8.5 inch hardcover with premium color printing, a ribbon bookmark and archival paper, printed and shipped from Pennsylvania.
What happens to the photo I upload?
It is used to build the likeness sheet for your kid and nothing else. Photos are never used to train AI and are auto-deleted after your last order. The full policy is on the privacy page.
What if the print is not good enough?
Every printed book has a 14-day happiness guarantee. If the print quality or the illustration of your kid is not right, you get a reprint at no cost or a full refund, your choice.
Can I read the whole book before paying anything?
Yes. The finished book, narrated, is free to read in the app. Five free stories per kid, no credit card. You pay $39 only if you decide to print.
